Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel) plans to commercially launch the country’s first triple play offer by January 2016, writes Alwihadinfo.com, citing CEO David Nkoto Emane.
He said the product currently in testing phase was built by Camtel engineers and relies on fibre technology.
It will offer customers a large range of TV channels and radio stations, as well as a fixed phone line and broadband. Camtel is currently deploying a fibre core network that will bring the triple-play service throughout the country.
The IPTV service would also present an alternative to DTT, which the communications ministry and Cameroon Radio and Television are struggling to deliver nationally.
